CompareTheMeerKat – Sergei was one of a number of collectable soft toys which people could collect if they purchased insurance through the compare the market website. As you had to get insurance anyway, why not get a kick-back from it, so got something to sweeten the pain of having to buy car insurance. The compare the market website is still running today, comparing insurance offerings as a price comparison website. I still love the tv ads featuring the meerkats. I would also say that in the country it has made meerkats very popular with most zoos having meerkats. Power of advertising eh…?
